A week ago, Rafaël Murillo & Raphaël Laredo released a vinyl EP titled ‘Muredo‘ on nascent french label SECONDE. Valentin Stip did a tasteful edit of the title track, which I’ve been playing out constantly since the release.
Have a listen-
Local hero and funky beat-smith Kevin Celestin -a.k.a. Kaytranada- has polished his forthcoming EP (via Jakarta & HW&W Records) and made it available to stream on Soundcloud. “Kaytra Todo” consists of 8 well-fabricated beats that showcase not only Kevin’s signature style, but a development of it. My two personal favourites: “All We Do”, and “Hot Jazzybelle” are two tracks that exemplify Kevin’s growth; rest assured, the other 6 tracks are bangers in their own right.
“KAYTRA TODO? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? ITS THE CONTRARY OF KAYTRA NADA. KAYTRA NOTHING TO KAYTRA EVERYTHING. THAT WHAT KAYTRA TODO MEANS. AYE.”
In lieu of Skream and Disclosure‘s back to back Boiler Room fuckery that took place live from the presidential suite of the W Hotel in London this evening, we bring you this feast of a house tune. Skream flatteringly rinsed “23″ only two days after it’s impactful release to the public. This is the title track off Shadow Child‘s 4 track EP of similarly cultured “peak time” house”, and will be the first release for his new label, Food Music. With a co-founder like Kry Wolf and early support from the likes of Eats Everything, and Mistajam, one should expect big things from this newly formed entity.
Hopefully like us, you enjoy this tune infinitely more than the sluggish crowd seemed to, who were lucky enough to be in attendance in that pillow feather ridden hotel room.
[Valentino Cazani, a.k.a. French Fries]
Parisian producer Valentino Cazani, more commonly known as French Fries, has set the Space Alarm / Smoke Wine EP to release through Dirtybird on November 13th. His professed love for ‘ghetto music’ clearly shines through the preview of these two new tracks. Stream the appetizer below-

Earlier today, Jasper Patterson premiered the video for the title track as well as a remix, courtesy of FoF affiliate Tomas Barfod. Patterson commissioned The Great Nordic Sword Fights, a multimedia story-telling duo, to bring his sound to image and we suspect that the result is more than he could have hoped for. Watch the video, compiled of vintage film clips, below and see for yourself.
Barfod’s take on the nostalgic, 80s inspired track is a pleasant surprise also. Through extending the tune to seven minutes and emphasizing that four-to-the-floor kick, the Danish producer manages to mold “TV Dream” into a more accessible, dance-floor oriented tune while maintaining those sophisticated video game vibes.
Civil Music brings you a refined visual paring to the bewitching centre-fold off Om Unit‘s forthcoming Aeolian EP. Part of the recording process took place at Red Bull Studios London. The collection will be released 30/07/12 on Civil Music 12.” Aeolian features not only the ravishing voice of Tamara Blessa, but also collaborations with low-end pillars, Kromestar, and Reso, as well as an edit by LA’s Sweatson Klank. Video is shot and directed by Dan Hankinson.

New Jersey Native, Jaw Jam, contorts luscious R&B samples and dresses them overtop of precisely broken rhythmic patterns. Our friends down at Live For The Funk utilized this 19-year old talent as LFTF001; the first ever release through the collective’s Our Sounds initiative. The EP is cleverly titled, Untitled, as it is difficult to place an underlying theme in the bouquet of tracks, rising and falling as a good narrative should. Lying confidently at the EP’s close is a remix of Jaw Jam’s single, Untitled, crafted by esteemed Brookyln beat-smith, Obey City.
Jaw Jam’s Untitled EP is an eloquent collection of tasteful music that absolutely belongs in your digital collection.

Jacques Greene, a man who requires little to no introduction, released a clipped and streamable version of his forthcoming EP earlier this morning. The Ready EP will officially release on July 16th via Martyn‘s DC-based 3024 label.
Bask in the haunting glory of Jacques’ signature sound, below-
Baauer‘s remix of Obey City‘s Neva Knew premiered on BBC Radio 1xtra’s Diplo and Friends Show last week, with Clockwork, (aka RL Grime,) and Samo Sound Boy spinning a back-to-back set. The rework will be featured on Obey City’s upcoming release, titled MY RVM EP, forthcoming on French-based B.YRSLF Division, July 15th, 2012.
Here is the original which dropped but two days ago on SoundCloud.

Mysterious Russian duo, Oceania, released their debut EP, titled, Postable, on Thursday May 31st via 7even Recordings, based in Tokyo. The pair has very little information for followers to fester on, only revealing, “Russia. 2012. A composer, multi-instrumentist, lyricist and singer. Another singer. A perfect alchemy between two artists.”
The EP’s leading track, Forest, is a shadowy, Burial-esque, transcendence into the early UK Jungle scene.

Canada’s own Jesse Futerman released the Fuse The Witches EP today on net-label Jus Like Music. We were given a taste of the EP just a few months back when Gilles Peterson featured Yusef on BBC Radio 1. A year on from his debut release, Super Basement, Fuse The Witches still holds Jesse’s distinct 70′s jazz-break style and features Canadian hip-hop producer and one of Jesse’s own idols; DJ Alibi.
”I’ve sampled from a wider array of sources such as records from my father’s collection as well as numerous film soundtracks. Despite this, I think I’ve managed to retain a strong jazzy sound while perhaps creating a more cohesive release overall. Let’s not forget the Stine Supreme…”

In the depths of the Amsterdam beat-scene reside the mysterious and covert, “elektronisch Hiphop” duo, Flash Grimey. The talented duet discreetly released their debut EP in February of this year. The White Boy Junk EP features 8 tracks, totalling a swift 11 minutes and 14 seconds. As of now, “Flash and Joe” lack any significant North American exposure, which is perplexing to say the least.
