Tomas Barfod | Broken Glass
Tomas Barfod is probably best known for his work as the drummer of Scandinavian the genre-bending outfit Whomadewho who, in the past, have played alongside Daft Punk, Soulwax, Hot Chip, Justice, and LCD Soundsystem. The fact that Barfod has been experimenting with the drums since he was 10 may have something to do with his affinity towards crafting unique rhythms, apparent in much his electronic production. His name can be found on the rosters of many of the worlds leading deviant dance and techno labels- Kitsuné , Turbo , and Kompakt are just a few.
His latest EP Broken Glass ( Friends of Friends ) was released just yesterday and features reworks from RMBA graduate Jacob Korn and Shlohmo. The title track will appear on Barfod’s upcoming LP, Salton Sea , which is set to be released in April. According to the man himself, Blade Runner ( both the film and the soundtrack) inspired the sonics of the record. Stream the Shlohmo remix over at Boiler Room here .
