Emancipator, known to his friends as Doug Appling, is a talented young artist whose style could only be equivocated to an emotional electronic symphony.  The 24 year-old producer’s first two releases, Safe In Steep Cliffs and Soon It Will Be Cold Enough , employ an orchestra of organic sounds that evoke an atmosphere of inquisitiveness and wonder. Entwining original recordings of guitar, mandolin, violin and banjo into his music, Emancipator cultivates a natural cohesion between acoustic and electronic harmonies.
