Just shy of a week ago, Stones Throw unshackled this hip-hop edit of East Coast psych-rockers The Stepkids ’ “Suburban Dream.” The tune was released twenty-four hours before Homeboy Sandman ’s album Chimera dropped (Buy HERE ). Lyrics provided by Queens MC’s, Troy Donald Jamerson, a.k.a. Pharoahe Monch of Organized Konfusion , and Angel Del Villar II (Homeboy Sandman). Verses were recorded at the Fat Beats headquarters’ studio in Brooklyn. Parisian production duo, Union , paired with these two pillars of New York, thus turning this psychedelic textural jam into an intelligent, danceable rap number.
