Xavier Thomas ( dÉbrui t) of Paris came to my attention through freebies bestowed upon me through my signing up to Civil Music ‘s email registry sometime last year. Civil Music summates the virtues of Xavier’s addition as a, “melee of jack-knifing riddims, booby trapped syncopation and bass heavy collisions.” Akoula debuted on Gilles Peterson ‘s last ever show on the BBC Radio 1. Xavier melts Ginuwine ‘s classic down to a state of an aqueous, yet heavy-hitting bliss. dÉbruit’s new album drops on the 4th of June 2012.
