Adding to an expansive discography of mind-bogglingly intricate frenetic experimental (acid-tinged) drum and bass music, Tom Jenkinson (a.k.a. Squarepusher ) just put out his latest album Ufabulum on Warp .
Compared to his debut LP Feed Me Weird Things (1996) , on “Dark Steering”, Squarepusher sounds less focused on articulating hyper-stimulated breaks and more focused on developing a narrative through synth orchestration. However, the baffling complexity and explosive energy of his rhythms remain unchanged.
