Vancouver born, Nashville residing low-life Robin Carnage released his optx EP on the first day of this new year. The optx EP features dark catchy hip-hop beats laden with chopped and screwed vocal lines from artists like Bun B, Young Jeezy, and Led Zeppelin. Robin contrasts arid atmospheres with cheeky melodies, hard-hitting beat patterns, and then drenches the result in a vat of southern grits; some might call his method a contradiction in composition, but in reality this contrast leads to an enticing and original sound.
