Zatonsky | Requiem N1 EP
Out the fog of obscurity, Stavropol’s Zatonsky lobs this cinematic melancholic gem entitled “Requiem N1″, which is out now via Berlin-based KDB Records .
Imagine the following three composers stuck in an elevator with nothing but a MacBook and a MIDI controller and you might get some idea of what you are about to hear: Clint Mansell, (the guy who scored for Requiem For A Dream ), Grant Kirkhope, (the guy who scored Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark), and Nico Jaar, (in one of his four-to-the-floor moods).
(Oh and just so you know, this is just a preview. The full-length mix is over eight minutes long.)
Also included is fellow Russian Kitt Zenga ‘s thumping re-interpretation that takes us to the dance-floor so we can shake off Zatonsky’s dreary melancholia.
