“Can’t Do Without You” is the first tune from Our Love , his forthcoming album which will be out on Merge Records on the 7th of October.
Based in Austria, Nauruan Stranger follows up his debut ‘Bot / Human’ EP with a new offering for Berlin-based Konstruktiv imprint, which includes a remix of the title cut by the label’s founder Rekord 61 .
The title cut evokes a mood of profundity and anticipation. On “Inka” Nauruan Stanger blends a muffled broken beat, a muted acid bass line, a dance of glowing synth pads, and indecipherable pitched-down vocal snippets.
“Akbar” is a dark acid trip. In other words, the focal point of this tune is a sinister warping Roland TB-303 riff that wiggles over top the driving four-to-the-floor groove. It features soft hypnotizing re-pitched vocal loops and chops.
On “Holga”, Nauruan Stranger lays down another broken beat overlaid with short vocal chops, a solemn choir section pad, a brooding muted 303 line, and distant otherworldly synth pads.
Inka EP is sublime. (And I love the art.)
Nauruan Stranger ’s Inka EP is out on Konstruktiv on June 2nd 2014.
Nico and Dave Harrington, a.k.a. Darkside , make over St. Vincent ‘s “Digital Witness”–a track off her recent self-titled LP .
Nottingham-based producer and R&S resident Lone has elected to kick off the new year with a track from the archives. “Dream Ache,” previously unreleased, is a piece that once again reveals his inspiration from long-time muses Boards of Canada .
If you recognize it, “Dream Ache” was previously only heard on Rustie’s 2012 Essential Mix .
Via Other People , Nico shares a recording of a recent performance with his partner in creativity Dave Harrington – as Darkside – at Pitchfork’s music festival in Paris…
Benjha , a.k.a. Nikos Vezanis, offers up this moody remix of “Aurore” from the debut EP of Mannheim’s Paul Valentin …
The remix bears Benjha’s signature slinky percussion and free-form flow.

The Houndstooth family brings forth this astoundingly dimensional compilation; dedicated to you the listener for the role you’ve played in their successes over 2012, and as an “affordable” opportunity for their more “casual” or new listeners to delve further into their roster.
“HTH vs HTH is a 7 track EP that pits the production processes of our artists against one another with Special Request and Akkord tackling each other’s stems whilst Call Super and Second Storey trade tracks alongside interweaved interpretations of House of Black Lanterns and _Unsubscribe_ and a chilling Snow Ghosts cover version.”

Ahead of his appearance at the 25 th anniversary party of Cold Cut’s Solid Steel radio show, Kieran Hebden has shared a two-hour mix furnished with unofficial edits and mixes.
“These edits were mainly made to be played in clubs, and I’ve always liked the tradition of DJs extending and rearranging to make things work in their sets. Most of the edits here are unreleased because they are just tools for DJs, really.”
Floating Points , Daphni , and Happa are just a couple of names present on the track list-
We do our best to listen to all of the submissions we receive on a daily basis. Today, a Sydney producer by the name of Goldielocks stood out for me.
He draws inspiration from “Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, Funk and Mary Jane”, as well as artists such as Flying Lotus, Jamie xx, Nicolas Jaar, Seekae, and XXYYXX amongst others.
Koze has given “Made To Stray” from Cold Spring Faultless Youth an endearingly dark and demented tech house makeover. DJ Koze ‘s remix is included on ‘ CSFLY Remixes ‘ EP, which was released today in the UK (tomorrow in North America) on Warp Records .

With the rhythmic stutters, linear progression, and textured field recordings interspersed throughout, Olaf Stuut ‘s Siren EP is subtly reminiscent of Valentin Stip . Both of these producers have an affinity for producing tracks that can be enjoyed while moving your feet or splaying out on your couch, and the songs on his latest EP fit neatly into this category.
Siren was released yesterday via Atomnation and if you’re feeling it, make sure to grab the free download of my personal favourite, “Suty”. Dauwd makes a special appearance on the album and his version of “Siren” is available for streaming below.
From the Hebdan ‘s latest LP Rewind out now on his very own TEXT records, this is “Unicorn”…

Vancouver’s 8prn took his time to refine this cheeky re-interpretation of “Never” from Koreless ‘s Yugen EP debut on Young Turks . Armed with his trusty 808 kit, 8prn has injected momentum and groove into Lewis Roberts’s g ently evolving sparse melodic synth lullaby.

For the latest edition of Adult Swim’s 2013 Singles Program – which, thus far, has brought us gems from Dan Deacon , Captain Murphy and more – Manchester-based techno producer Andy Stott has composed a characteristically ominous piece rich with industrial-inspired atmospheric noise, pulsating synths and sparse percussion. Alison Skidmore, Stott’s old piano instructor and the same woman who offered some emotional resonance into the otherwise bleak mood Stott laid out in his latest LP, Luxury Problems , is featured on the track as well.

24 year old London-based R&B vocalist and producer Sampha is best known for his collaborative work. However, with the release of his “Dual” EP via Young Turks , and more specifically the closing track of the EP “Can’t Get Close”, Sampha has shown that his teeming emotion does not necessarily require a collaborative effort. The sixth and final track of the EP is a beat-less gospel-esque layer cake of beautiful harmonies with Sampha’s raw lead vocals dressed overtop.

Thomas Cade , a young producer who splits his time between Toronto, Canada, and London, UK, went to work on Humans’ “De Ciel” and came up with this tough remix.
At this point in time, “dubstep” is a dirty word for a lot of folks. Nevertheless, Cade seems to have few qualms with respect to integrating certain distinctive elements of the style into his sound on this cut. Rhythmically, the track is driven by a menacing half-step groove with a big reverberant snare on the ’3′ and warm synths that pulsate with side-chain compression. When the soulful vocal hook from “De Ciel” kicks in around 1:31, I find myself squinting and raising my trigger finger high.
If you are in B.C. this weekend, you can catch Humans performing at Bass Coast in Merritt.

Everybody wants me to say something about my private life, as much of it as is left. Here goes-
Through various forms of social media, Shlohmo , D33J and the rest of the family at Wedidit have announced their next release- a split EP between two producers who respectively go by C.Z. and Arnold. Led by a spirited yet mournful piano line and chopped up vocal samples that flutter above a handful of enigmatic elements, the colourful track doesn’t stray far from the distinctive brand of sound that the collective has cultivated.
The split EP will be available this coming Tuesday.

Jameszoo ’s Jheronimus EP follows his 2012 release, Faaveelaa, which received nods from The Gaslamp Killer and Mark Pritchard (Warp, Hyperdub, etc…) to name two. Inspired by the fantastical images painted by the Dutch artist from whom his album takes its name, Jheronimus sees Jameszoo experimenting once again with disparate jazz, folk, and electronic elements that somehow, albeit odd, balance each other out. Listen to “Poek,” the standout track, below and if it moves you, experience the entire EP here .

CFCF ‘s Music for Objects EP, out today on Paper Bag / Dummy , shows the Montreal native departing from his signature dance-floor oriented sound into the realm of experimental compositions and making strong references to the music of Philip Glass . The common thread stitching Michael Silver’s past works with Music for Objects is the recurring theme of music with repetitive structures. On the topic of the inspiration for the thematic direction of this project, Silver recounts the following:
“The theme ‘Music for Objects’ came to me kind of suddenly as I was watching this documentary by Wim Wenders about the fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto called ‘Notebook on Cities and Clothes’. In particular, there was a piece of music by the film’s composer, Laurent Petitgand, that struck me with how bizarre it was and that it was essentially a song that was trying to convey something inexpressible about his clothing. It inspired me to look at the everyday objects on my desk and all about my apartment and outside on the street and see that there was something kind of inexpressible about them that I wanted to convey through music.”
