Lapalux | The Hours
British producer Stuart Howard (aka Lapalux ) has another EP in the works, which is set to drop on October 16th on none other than Brainfeeder Records . Howard hasn’t said much about his forthcoming release, though he has offered a hint of what to expect.
“The Hours,” which is subtly more docile than much of his previous work, won’t appear on Some Other Time . However, from the sounds of it, Howard isn’t straying too far from the “electro/organic sound continuum” he established in his last EP, When You’re Gone. Stream and download, for the price of an email address, his latest track below.

Breton | The Commission (Lapalux Aquatic Centre Remix)
Brainfeeder cohort Lapalux ‘s latest production, as the title suggests, is a rework submerged in oceanic soundscapes. Stuart Howard’s “Aquatic Centre Remix” is something like a beat rendering of Jürgen Müller’s Science of the Sea , an album that Müller supposedly composed on his houseboat from found marine sound.
Howard’s re-float of “The Commission” can be found on UK producer Breton ‘s forthcoming remix collection.

10 Days Off 2012 | Ghent, Belgium
Ever heard of Ghent? I didn’t think so. Well, if you haven’t, don’t beat yourself up too much because not once have I heard that perfectly plain North American yammer during my time spent here, despite the town bearing Lonely Planet’s number 7 spot on its 10 Places to Visit Before You Die list.
But enough about the town. Its lovely. Trust me. Canals, churches, cobblestone, jolly drunks, pretty people, and prettier personalities; its all here. What else is here, though, is an incredibly unique concert series showcasing an acute selection of electronic music’s foremost purveyors. That’s the real reason I’m here. Found down a winding alley and along side a murky jade strip of river is the Vooruit Art Centre ‘s 10 Days Off festival.
“In 1995, 10 Days Off started as 10 Days Of Techno. Today, almost every electronic music genre can be seen and heard at the festival. 10 Days Off has become a landmark in the international electronic music scene. The festival welcomes artists, clubbers, music lovers and media from all over the world.
The festival has its own character and style, built on its pioneering decisive choice for programming electronic music.”

Slugabed | Mountains Come Out of the Sky (Lapalux Remix)
Stuart Howard has already thoroughly demonstrated his knack for crafting refreshing and emotionally driven beat tunes. However, with each release, the Essex-born producer manages to expand on his signature sound, solidifying his position as a dominant presence in this ever-evolving beat scene.
Lapalux ‘s latest jam follows his acclaimed XLR8R Podcast , which provided a window into the “sounds that make him tick.” His rework of Slugabed ‘s “Mountains Come Out of the Sky” is furnished with glimmering synths, elongated vocal samples and those characteristic off-kilter beats.
“Lapalux did something lovely with a track of mine. You can have it for free because you deserve it.”

Mario | Let Me Love You (Lapalux Bootleg Remix)
[Lapalux]
Stuart Howard, riding high from his recent release on Brainfeeder , has reworked one of the most successful R&B singles of the past decade into a nearly unrecognizable beat number. Lapalux deconstructs the glossy original, synthesizing its parts into a frantic, densely layered amalgamation of manipulated vocal cuts and supplemental synth and percussion lines. Somehow, through texturing, bending and warping his noises, Howard manages to craft a swinging, soul-inflected tune from almost completely synthetic sound.
