Lorn | Ask The Dust LP [ZEN187]
Following up his Nothing Else LP released on Brainfeeder last June, Lorn ‘s Ask The Dust LP is due for release on Ninja Tune on June 19th.
The release takes its name from John Fante’s 1939 novel. Contrasting his new work with his debut release, Lorn describes his first record as “cold and strict”; while the new record is “haunted, oily, and smeared.”

Marcus Ortega conjures up a chilling nostalgic atmosphere through the interplay of a washed out discordant piano, and the deep strolling plucks of a double-bass.
With a couple EPs, and the Nothing Else LP [ Brainfeeder , 2010] under his belt, Lorn has shown himself to be extremely sonically versatile.
Look out for his upcoming release entitled Ask The Dust on Ninja Tune , which drops on the 18th of June 2012. Ortega describes his new work as “haunted, oily, and smeared.”
