Out on his own
Graded
imprint [12" + digital], is
Midland
‘s
Diving Bell EP
. Below are the previews he let out a month ago of the “drum/percussion-centric dancfloor” sounds on the EP. If you haven’t heard them, have a listen, and purchase the release
here
.
Given that
BBC Radio 1
named him the “Sound Of 2013″, it is a bit surprising that we haven’t heard more from
Brolin
this year so far. That said, as of yet, every tune I have come across that has his name on it has been worth listening to and coming back to.
Since
George FitzGerald
’s “I Can Tell (By the Way You Move)” debuted during the
Hotflush
x
Boiler Room
Takeover with FitzGerald and
Scuba
, a few different rips have been floating around the interwebs. Now, following his signing to
Domino Records
, the UK house kingpin has shared a longer (though still not full) version of the single.
As promised, today was the release date for his
Yugen
EP on
Young Turks
. ‘Last Remnants’ possesses tasteful melodies and the dreamy sound that entice my love for
Koreless
‘s music.
Give it a listen, check the previous single from the EP

Brighton-based beat-maker
Leon Vynehall
chooses to hold on to his true identity. The DJ/producer has made some noise in the UK house scene as of late, and it easy to understand why as he effortlessly blends soul, funk, and disco music with the four on the floor sound we know and love. His latest cut,
“Sister”,
is being represented by the folks at
AUS Music
, the label that has been putting forth work from other UK house producers such as
George Fitzgerald
and
Bicep
.On
Fitzgeralds
label,
ManMakeMusic
, Leon released today a collaboration with
Christian piers
under the alias “
Lazlo Dancehall
“; check out that release
here
. The “Brother/Sister” EP will be out officially on June 10th, and you can pre-order the vinyl now via
Boomkat
.
If you dig
“Sister”,

New single ‘You & Me’ featuring
Eliza Doolittle
in from
Disclosure
. You can pick this one up on the 28th, and their album ‘Settle’ will be out on the 3rd of June. Poppy dance vibes, as per-usual from the UK brothers.
Member of
Digital Mystikz
, co-founder of
DMZ
, and creator of
Deep Medi
, Mark Lawrence is one of the few bonafide pioneers of a genre we’ve come to know and love.
To improve the mood of your Monday,
Kry Wolf
posted up their latest track called ‘Concrete’, to be released later in the year on
Sounds of Sumo
. The South UK duo /
Food Music
heads have been putting out solid music, so have a listen below, and keep your head up for what they have to offer in the always near future.
For the latest edition of
Annie Mac
‘s
Free Music Mondays
we see Matt Relton, better known as
Kidnap Kid
, take a turn at remixing
Lulu James
‘ “Closer.” A few days back, fellow UK artist
Brolin
released his own understated take on the track, which we enjoyed thoroughly. However,
Kidnap Kid
has taken the song in another direction. As the producer behind her last EP (
Be Safe/Stuck
), he is quite familiar with James’ style, which seems to give him an edge when reworking her track. He doesn’t change very much- with a few tweaks here and there, Relton simply infuses a subtle and welcome dance floor feel into the original while leaving almost everything else intact.
Crafting his sounds out of the United Kingdom,
Swindle
is better known for his clean dubstep production as opposed to a beat based sound;
Mischief
falls into the latter category. Released on Mala’s
Deep Medi Musik
label,
Mischeif
is a cheeky beat that sounds like it belongs in a film noir, featuring a smokey saxophone line, bongos, and a descending piano scale. The sheer quality of this production depicts Swindle’s masterful manipulation of sound.
Gaining critical acclaim from the likes of
Gilles Peterson
and
Benji B
, Wolverhampton UK duo
Letherette
embody an experimental disco-house funk sound reminiscent of Discovery-era Daft Punk. In hopes to promote their forthcoming EP -
Featurette
-
via
NinjaTune
, the shadowy group have been benevolent enough to toss a single our way.
Featurette
drops on November 19th; in the mean time, be sure to trade your email for the single

Luke Abbot
is a Norfolk-residing house producer equipped with an immense capacity to puppeteer fidgety feet on the dance-floor through his moody and emotive production. This past June, Luke released the EP, titled,
Modern Driveway
,
through the
Gold Panda
-helmed label,
NoTown Records.
The title-track of the EP features a dark-disco themed, temperamental take on classic UK house.
Modern Driveway
is one of those songs that rewards the ‘medicated’ listener with temporary philosophical epiphanies in the small hours of the morning.
Yesterday,
Bondax
presented their patrons with the newest single via their official Youtube channel. This euphonious garage arrangment will be made available August 19th through Lancaster’s
Just Us Recordings
.
Eyez
from Derby (UK) gives his #SPITFIRE, brought to you by JDZ Media. A thirsty, young call-out that has more authenticity and wit then anything in our soft-worded Western World. Keep an eye on his

…”cuz I roll with men that are savage and cruel, ya-I roll with maniacs, couple white keys, yes, but we mainly black”…
Yesterday,
Hudson Mohawke
and
Lunice
(
TNGHT
) uncovered a preview mix for their impending self titled EP. The collection will be available on vinyl as well as for digital download on July 23/24. There is already a huge buzz around their first UK headlining show at London’s
Village Undeground
next Thursday, June 21.
Disclosure
need no introduction, as their recent bounding success has caught the attention of the industries’ top producers and DJs.
Zane Lowe
, radio DJ of
BBC Radio 1
, holds the track in high regard, proclaiming, “Disclosure’s new record, ‘Control’, is tonight’s hottest record in the world.”
Here is a new preview fresh off their sound cloud.
