Olaf Stuut | Siren EP

Olaf Stuut - Siren EP

With the rhythmic stutters, linear progression, and textured field recordings interspersed throughout, Olaf Stuut ‘s Siren EP is subtly reminiscent of Valentin Stip . Both of these producers have an affinity for producing tracks that can be enjoyed while moving your feet or splaying out on your couch, and the songs on his latest EP fit neatly into this category.

Siren was released yesterday via Atomnation and if you’re feeling it, make sure to grab the free download of my personal favourite, “Suty”. Dauwd makes a special appearance on the album and his version of “Siren” is available for streaming below.

Coma | My Orbit

Coma

Coma generally gravitate towards producing minimal yet melodic, pop-imbued electronica, a tendency that sets the German-based duo apart from their cohorts at Kompakt Records (their “homebase label”). Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad are meticulous in their work, something that is quite evident in the fact that their forthcoming LP, In Technicolor , has been in the works for three years now. The lead single “ Hoooooray ” debuted just over a month ago and provided something like an explanation for the hints that Coma have offered about their latest work-

“Where our previous releases were kinda mirroring a foggy black and white movie, this is definitely a color film… our attempt at fusing diverse sounds in a more vivid manner, without falling prey to boring club conventions restricting the expressiveness of the music.”

First heard on Michael Mayer ’s RA podcast, “My Orbit” won’t be featured on the album- however, the brilliant single does offer another taste of the lighter, more disco-oriented sounds that Coma have been recently experimenting with. “My Orbit” will be released tomorrow via Kompakt and will feature remixes from Clouds and Dauwd .
