Bwana | Over and Done EP

When creating electronic dance records, Toronto-native Nathan Micay goes by the moniker of Bwana, Swahili slang for “big boss”. This twenty-one-year-old has only been producing music for just over a year now and has put out two impressive EPs on the independent Montreal record label Infinite Machine . Nathan’s most recent release, Over and Done , has three arrhythmia-inducing original songs and also features remixes from XI, Jack Dixon, and Sibian & Faun. The title track, “It Ain’t Done Til Its Over”, employs a jittery synthesizer and chopped vocal sample reminiscent of Mount Kimbie to create a comfortable anxiety-filled atmosphere with a sub drop that would leave any bass lord’s ear drums battered and satisfied.
