Video: Nguzunguzu | Smoke Alarm

Asma Maroof and Daniel Pineda, the pair behind the experimental bass-driven act Nguzunguzu , just released a video complimenting one of their latest pieces, “Smoke Alarm.” The multi-sonic track debuted a few months back on their Warm Pulse EP but, if you didn’t know better, you’d think that the song and video were made simultaneously. Often playing like a malfunctioning VHS tape, the scenes feature something like an L.E.D. lightshow imposed on images of a rather dreary home (save for the burning coffee table). Their visual interpretation fits neatly into the leading leftfield aesthetic that the duo has coined.

And if you missed it, catch up on our interview with them here .
