On the heels of his “double-headliner” single for Kompakt , John Tejada returns to his own imprint with “Anaphora” b/w “Bode’s Law,” two dynamic and emotive tracks perfectly suited as a pair. With it’s wistful melodies and warm, driving synths, “Anaphora” balances out the toughness of the B-side.

This L.A. based producer has been making beats since 1994–and it shows.  His music has been released by various well-respected labels including Playhouse , 7th City , Poker Flat , Kompakt , and his own label Palette Recordings .

John Tejada’s latest cut entitled “Somewhere” is a deep minimalistic evolving  seven-minute dance odyssey. Tejada’s sound is restrained and understated–a perfect match for Cologne’s legendary minimal techno imprint– Kompakt . His synths are crisp warm and precise and they dance deftly together in perfect synchronization.

Sam Willis | Winterval

Sam Willis is poised to release his debut LP Winterval on London-based label Half Machine on November 5th. Willis has put out his work on other labels including Rekids, and RVNG, but this will be his most substantial batch of songs released to date.

He has also released two records with Alesio Natalizia as Walls via Kompakt , and can be heard on dance floors as part of the DJ outfit ALLEZ-ALLEZ.

The title track is an atmospheric slow-cooker propelled along by a tight 4/4 groove- so if you’re going to listen to it- sit back, relax, and let go. (In other words, don’t skip to 1:34 and nod your head for 8 seconds and then skip to 3:40 etc.)

John Tejada | The Function And The Form

John Tejada (pictured above) was born into a family of classically trained musicians, which is really no surprise once you’ve listened to his work. Around this time last year, the LA-based producer reestablished himself as a driving force in the electronic music world with his solid LP, Parabolas. This summer, he’s back at it with a new album, forthcoming on Kompakt Records. “The Function And The Form” is the first listen from The Predicting Machine.

“John Tejada’s new album ’The Predicting Machine’, like its predecessor “Parabolas,” is a carefully arranged body of work exhibiting stunning amounts of musicality while dauntlessly delving into the depths of its own sound. Every single one of Tejada’s tracks sees its own personal evolution, being send on a journey through wondrous landscapes, worlds that are “alien” in the most human way possible, inviting you to stay and lionize the marvels on display. Truly an architect of epic story arcs, John Tejada builds them on the smallest of surfaces, finding grandness in every detail. “The Predicting Machine” is out on September 10th 2012.”
