Baths | The Vapors

Baths is Will Wiesenfeld, a native of Tarzana, who in the last year has gone from contented obscurity to becoming somewhat of a luminary in the chill-wave scene. Under the monikers Post-Foetus and Geotic , Wiesenfeld self-released a number of albums, however he perfected his brand with the release of Cerulean, Baths’ debut album recorded over two months in the comfort of his own bedroom. In an amalgamation of traditional instrumentation, electronic aspects and ambient noise – clicking pens, rustling blankets, scissor snaps among other found objects – Wiesenfeld has managed to craft a series of inimitable melodies distinct to his aural oeuvre. There’s a warmth that emanates from  Baths’ work and in regards to his live performances, he explains-

“The thing is. it’s not about the equipment live, especially with electronic music. That’s just gimmickry. It’s about your physicality – the actual human presence in the room.”
