The Stepkids | Suburban Dream (Union Remix) feat. Pharoahe Monch & Homeboy Sandman

[promo art for Suburban Dream Remix]

Just shy of a week ago, Stones Throw unshackled this hip-hop edit of East Coast psych-rockers The Stepkids ’ “Suburban Dream.”  The tune was released twenty-four hours before Homeboy Sandman ’s album Chimera dropped (Buy HERE ).  Lyrics provided by Queens MC’s, Troy Donald Jamerson, a.k.a. Pharoahe Monch of Organized Konfusion , and Angel Del Villar II (Homeboy Sandman). Verses were recorded at the Fat Beats headquarters’ studio in Brooklyn. Parisian production duo, Union , paired with these two pillars of New York, thus turning this psychedelic textural jam into an intelligent, danceable rap number. The Stepkids are on tour with Mayer Hawthorne throughout the US for the spring of 2012. Listen to their original here .
