Hauschka | Radar (Michael Mayer Remix)

Last year, German pianist, Volker Bertelmann (a.k.a. Hauschka ) made a splash with his ninth release, Salon Des Amateurs . The album, which was named after a club the musician frequents, embraced the sound of house music a bit more than his previous work did. However, the sounds were not exactly dance floor friendly.

Fortunately, for all of you looking for some more club-oriented tunes, those at UK-based label FatCat have gone ahead and taken on the project of revisiting Hauschka ‘s record. The label has enlisted four distinct producers to rework the album by crafting interpretations that rely heavier on dance floor rhythms and deep, penetrating baselines rather than focusing solely on the piano. Michael Mayer’s stunning take on “Radar” is featured on Salon Des Amateurs Remix EP-1 , which is already available in vinyl format here . The second EP is set to drop next week.
