a lighter head for your heavy heart

Chrome Canyon | Generations

In anticipation of his debut LP Elemental Themes coming October 9th 2012 via Stones Throw , NYC-based producer Chrome Canyon, a.k.a. Morgan Z, shared this soaring astral flight entitled ‘Generations’.

The inaugural set is blessed with solid circuitry and an organic core: not only those analog synths, but live drums, bass, guitar and Theremin run through hand-built compressors, composed and arranged into a living, breathing whole .

‘Generations’ sounds like a bittersweet tribute to fearless explorers. Spatters of effortlessly satisfying drum-fills punctuate the driving funky bass groove underneath a sky lit up by a colourful display of pulsating synth melodies and harmonics.

If we can indeed recover yesterday’s fantasy of what tomorrow would (should) be, then Chrome Canyon is the temporal technician for the job.
