The Hip Hop duo, Union, consists of the two Parisian producers OJ & Gold. Together these musicians craft a refreshing fusion of Hip Hop beats and 70′s Jazz Funk.
Their sound is coloured with a nostalgic throwback to vintage electro, featuring intricate interplay between keys and synths. Placing emphasis on composing, rather than only sampling, the artists are able to meticulously weave sonic textures that drip, descend, whir, and whistle- all in fluid cohesion.
Blue Wave is taken off their latest record, Analogtronics ( Fat Beat Records ). This word combination is said to define “the analog at the service of the electronic.” The title references the vintage synths and keyboards used so masterfully throughout the album.
