London-based production duo Maribou State started working together, under the current moniker, just over a year ago. However, the two have already made a splash with their Native EP, released via Southern Fried .
The boys, who first met at the tender age of 13 when one sold the other a skate ramp (and later burnt it when he never received payment), have a tendency to gravitate towards the lighter, breezier side of electronica. So, it was a pleasant surprise to hear the duo experimenting with a darker, more ominous atmosphere on their most recent pieces. Maribou State ‘s rework of Post War Years ‘ “Glass House” follows up Native , once again leaving a particularly good taste in our mouths.
