Montreal’s own Lunice Fermin Pierre II fashioned an hour long mix for BBC Radio 1Xtra as of late. The result is what followers might expect, which is a good thing; a creative concoction of cranked 808′s, cheeky melodies, and rattling high-hats. A few tracks to look out for include: Jamie xx and Gil Scott Heron‘s NY Is Killing Me, Kaytranada‘s Holy Hole Inna Donut, and a freshly pressed TNGHT manicure of Good Music’s Clique (56:00!).

DJ Q out of Huddersfield, UK, just dropped this VIP of his infectious UKG number “Brandy and Coke,” in which Q integrates the vocal hook from Groove Armada’s “My Friend.” In exchange for a ‘like’ on the Local Action Records Facebook page, you can download a copy of the track.
Q recently parted ways with BBC 1Xtra after seven years spinning UK garage on air. We look forward to hearing more from him in the future.

Obey City | Neva Knew (Baauer remix) [BYRSLF015] (Preview)
Baauer‘s remix of Obey City‘s Neva Knew premiered on BBC Radio 1xtra’s Diplo and Friends Show last week, with Clockwork, (aka RL Grime,) and Samo Sound Boy spinning a back-to-back set. The rework will be featured on Obey City’s upcoming release, titled MY RVM EP, forthcoming on French-based B.YRSLF Division, July 15th, 2012.
