Gold Island (Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990 Remix) | Surkin

[Artwork for USA Club Mixes]

This ghetto-minimalist heavy- hitter spawned from an invitation to remix Parisian-born, Surkin ‘s USA LP . The packed, after-hours dance floor is the environment targeted here by Night Slugs ‘ co-founders, Alex Sushin ( Bok Bok ) and James Connolly ( L-Vis 1990 ), making this number a label defining-track, of sorts, despite its release on the Marble imprint.

Machinedrum | Alarmaa

[Alarmaa EP]

Travis Stewart aka Machinedrum was nice enough to give this gem of a track away for the free LuckyMe Christmas Advent, which the label released back in December. The highly acclaimed Glasgow label celebrated the festivities by giving away one free remix/unreleased/rare track from their astounding assortment of acts listing from Jacques Greene , Hudson Mohawke , Lunice , Mike Slott & Rustie .

Alarmaa made its way around the Boiler Room with it’s in your face drums, bubbling synths and heavy winding bass. Don’t be surprised if this tune destroys your dancefloor.

John Doe

Baauer | Dum Dum

Baauer is a 22 year old Brooklyn born, future crunk producer. About eight years ago, he started out producing house and electro tunes but gradually combined his love of hip-hop instrumentals with the energy of house music. With both hip-hop and house genres at his disposal, he has developed a near perfect formula comprised of crunk-dripped, lex luger hi-hats and the obvious essential component: bass.  The following songs come highly recommended by TNGHT ( Hudson Mohawe & Lunice ) and Rustie , .

“Sheer trap-drenched tracks with otherworldly sounds and spine-chilling bass-isms that make you want to shout in your deepest DJ-drop voice, ‘ Damn son, where’d you find this??’”
